They don't make 'em like they used to. That's basically the theme of this blog, which is essentially the ramblings of a movie buff. The majority of posts focus on monsters in film or vintage TV. I don't care much for modern TV or for that matter, most contemporary horror or sci-fi films. They're far too long, unimaginative, and for the most part poorly-written. There's exceptions I guess with films like Pan's Labyrinth (which I thought was brilliant), Moon, Monsters, Let Me In, but those are few and far between.
Occasionally, I'll get off track and comment on other monsters such as cryptids (Bigfoot, Mothman, The New Jersey Devil, and so forth), which I find to be fascinating, both from a pop culture perspective and from the scientist in me. I also get on tangents and comment on whatever pops in my mind.
Lastly, there are other monsters we all deal with from time to time. These are obstacles and hurdles in life that are the true monsters. But all monsters can be defeated with perseverance and a plan.
