Sci-Fi Workhorse

Here’s an old workhorse! You’ve seen this aircraft in a ton of old sci-fi films from the 50’s.  It’s a Sikorsky Dragonfly used for Search and Rescue (SAR) operations and in the Korean War.  It makes an appearance in Them! (1964) and The Land Unknown (1957) and several other films.  This aircraft is displayed at the PIMA Air & Space Museum, in Tucson, Arizona.  The Sikorsky H-5G is identifiable due to a distinct shape, three-blade rotor design, and twin search lights in the nose.
