Real Battra?

This past weekend I visited the W. J. Beal Botanical Garden at MSU. Feasting on a poisonous alkaloid plant were several hungry black and orange caterpillars. I looked them up and identified them as Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly larvae (Battus philenor). They remind me of Mothra’s nemesis Battra in Godzilla and Mothra: Battle for Earth (1992).
