R.I.P. Gerry Anderson

Visionary English filmmaker, writer and producer Gerry Anderson has passed at age 83. Anderson perfected the live-action use of puppets through a process of Supermarionation, used by the British production company AP Films. Anderson produced a series of TV shows that hold up well today, including:

Supercar (1961)
Fireball XL5 (1962)
Sting Ray (1964)
Thunderbirds (1965)
Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967)
Joe90 (1968)
The Secret Service (1969)
UFO (1970)
Space 1999 (1975)
Terrahawks (1983)

He was also writer of the underrated Journey to the Far Side of the Sun (1969).
